If you have to drive, bring good walking boots/shoes,heavy coat,hat,scarf and gloves in case you have to abandon your car and walk.
Make sure you have enough petrol in your car in case you are stuck in traffic for long spells of time.
Make sure you have a mobile phone and it is fully charged.
You should bring water and snacks in case you have a long walk ahead of you.
Always drive slowly and keep your distance from the vehicle in front, as your breaking distance is 10 times longer.
Try to avoid hills, but if this is not possible use your gears to slow your car going downwards, as breaking may cause you to skid. If going uphill try to avoid stopping as you may not regain your grip.
